Best Hosting for Mass Mailing.
« on: June 02, 2009, 12:15:43 AM »
I am looking for web hosting that I can send 30,000 emails a day from..
I can split up this number over multiple hosting to keep things under the radar, but I was wondering how you guys suggest going about this?

I have to agree, the guys that make the best money seem to have compliant mailing setups. Is there a good place to go to find information on setting up compliant emailing?

To answer the initial question  go search on ARP3. It is an autoresponder software that will meter the mail out at 30k per day - or what rate your server will handle. The company will likely be able to recommend web hosts too. Some Russian guy sets it up on the server as part of the license cos

The simple fact of the matter is this... email marketing/spam whatever you want to call it does work, I know I did it for years.

That doesn't mean it is without risk or expense.

The more targeted your list, the better you will be. When I did it full time, it was pure spam, we had no idea whether the person had the slightest interest in what we were sending and we didn't care, to us (at that time) it was purely a numbers game.

That said, however you do your mailing, a bullet proof hosting is a REAL good idea.

Siteground offers and recommends PhpList for mass mail sending on the shared servers. PhpList can be found and installed from your Fantastico in cPanel.

There is a 400 e-mails per hour limitation, so this is the maximum number of emails that you can send in an hour.

If the needs of your hosting account exceed this limit you should consider ordering a vps or a dedicated server.

You need to get either a dedicated server or a VPS web hosting plan in order to set up your own mail server.

Another option is to look into dedicated email/newsletter services such a Mailchimp or ConstantContact.
