Which Social sites are you using???

what  social networks do you use (for either personal or marketing purposes)? I think this will help to really open things up and get a feel for who does what and what everyone is interested in.

I also have a Del.icio.us account, Digg, a myspace account...and I think that's about it.

I haven't pursued the social media thing very much, just a bit from curiosity. Don't see too much practicality in it...

I have used digg only where i have many accounts...
Digg has been nice to me - three times so far. The backlinks surge in proportion to the number of diggs which in turn is dependent on how good the content is. The directly referred traffic is proportional to how well written the submission is. A marketing strategy must understand the difference between these two factors..

Del.icio.us - If I like something I wrote, I submit it there.

I think that's it, though I visited Reddit a few times. Not a member.

I have a good feeling that alot of marketers use sites like Digg and therefore have more than one account. I only have 1 account, but then I never hardly use digg as I have heard that the traffic you get from them doesn't really convert anyway

I have one digg account that I don't actually use, stumble quite often and I belong to three forums that I post fairly regularly. I do not comment normally on blogs, but I help with the odd article at the wikipedia now and then.

Heres my list. I find if you're too active on these types of sites there ain't a lot of time to get work done!

myspace - utter crap both socially and for business, though useful for checking out bands I suppose

facebook - complete and utter POSITIVE waste of time wink-2.gif (it has helped me get back in touch with friends I'd not seen in 11 years though!)

linkedIn - just got on it last week. Don't know anyone in the UK thats on it so hoping anyone else thats here and is on linkedIn may invite me on to their network (i hope this isn't over stepping the mark here, mods)

I have accounts at Digg, Reddit and Stumble. I don't use the Digg and Stumble accounts much, but do find interesting things to read on reddit.

I get some nice traffic from Stumble. I am also starting to see a little traffic from plime.com

I did sign up on Digg, Reditt, Stumbleupon and del.ici.ous.Not active in Digg, but regularly get 20-30 visits from stumble-upon.

I pretty much only use the usual suspects.

Facebook - far too much of a waste of time, but it keeps me in contact with people at home.
Myspace - only if i'm really bored and looking for bands playing in my area, the rest of the time it's just too irritating for words (to me anyway)
Linkedin - for business contacts & in case i decide to job hop again
Digg - only when someone actually asks me to will i go there

I think it's important to grasp that we are talking social sites so you only get out what you put in. I'm finding good value in adopting that approach in StumbleUpon and I've now started to do the same thing in Digg.

Part of that is to establish Friends who will not necessarily approve of all you do, but at least will be more likely to spot you've written something. It's even better when one of your friends is the first to SU or Digg your posts.

i prefer forum posting and twitter ...they have been working well for me..

But they are not social networks... i have included social media as well
