Are links in forum posts becoming no follow ones...
« on: June 04, 2009, 02:15:02 AM »
Nofollow attribute ....
Google has made it clear by adding the nofollow attribute to links in a blog or website will help that site stay in good hands ... now my question is what about links inside a forum post?? does that rule apply??/ meaning how would you turn links in forum post nofollow???

What do you mean by: the site will stay in good hands if you add the nofollow attribute to links?

Well, No-follow attribute has no value in Google at all,.... but Yahoo and other search engines accept no-follow so its not that bad if you are targeting yahoo. For Google always choose a do-follow attribute.

I would not recommend consider links from the forums as the part of the SEO. They are temporary ones and that will never make the SEO stronger

I would say you could put people off from posting. I learn masses from forums and enjoy posting in them - but forums that don't allow me a dofollow link are ones I don't waste my time on. Personally, I feel cheated when I realise something is nofollow.

Nofollow is not working against you but not helping you as well
So why will you spend time on forums with no follow..

Most of the forums are crowded simply because of the advantages they give...

Links in most forums are dofollow. In blog commenting, I'm not too concerned whether the blog accepts nofollow or dofollow comments for both links generate traffic to my site
