New in PPC
« on: May 22, 2009, 01:35:32 AM »
Hi all ...

I am just starting out in PPC...
can someone tell me what PPC is in simple terms. Also, I have just launched a website, should I use PPC to help drive traffic to my website. If so, do I need to go through a company to do this?
thanks in advance

Shruti

PPC is 'Pay Per Click' and is a form of  on online advertsing that often takes place on search engine, and more often than not, Google.

What type of website have you launched? Whether you should use PPC or not depends on your aims and objectives - if your are selling products then it may be beneficial, but if you are offering free content probably not so.

With regards to outsourcing PPC, this can be beneficial but again depends on your budget and strategy. Most PPC programs are fairly simple to use on a basic level, so I would recommend testing what they have to offer with a limited budget, and see how you get on.

Hope this helps, you would like any more advice just ask!

As its the most popular SE, I'd suggest you go to Google's Learning Center . You may need an AdWords account to access it (which is free), but they have some resources on the how to use their service. I bet you will learn a lot there...

PPC is simply "Pay Per Click" just a method to advertise your services or products using Google adwords. For this service you've to creat an account with google adwords and then follow the step by step..

hi shruti...

Pay-per-click advertising is a form of online advertising whereby visitors are directed to an advertiser's website after clicking on an advertisement, and the advertiser pays for each visitor on a per-click basis.
The best example of pay-per-click advertising is Google's PPC advertising called Google AdWords. The ads appear on the right hand side for each search ...

PPC as been clearly explained by everyone here...But regarding your query about whether you should go for a professional/company, it depends.. If you are a beginner ,it would probably be better ,that you should hire a company ,plus it gives you more time to concentrate on your business i.e. considering budget is not much of a problem(Of course if budget is a problem you would rather go for free traffic).....You could do it yourself but it requires lot of study and understanding which can take time....

Though for a start i would recommend some professional/company,  and you can learn in the meantime the PPC process...

I agree with jeremy...

For a beginner, it isnt easy to do PPC ... You can buy an e-book and learn the process. But that will take time plus some experience is always handy... So i reckon go for a company for a start , understand the process that they do and then do it yourself..

Good luck...
