Great infos on getting quality traffic guys. Just wanted to know if anyone has had any good results from banner exchange/advertising. Is it a viable method or just a waste of time?..Well advertising would generate at least some income so it's not a total waste. Haven't had much luck with article marketing though. I wonder why..

The problem with banner exchange advertising is that unless your on a high traffic page on there site you wont see much in return. If you can work out both putting them on a high traffic page you may have some success but it can be hard sometimes. If your looking for traffic you could have some better success if you just do some research and find a few quality links.

As far as article marketing there is a trick that will help you to get a ton of traffic.... Anyways have ten article written for you, or do them yourself. You then go to sites like ezine articles,, etc and you do 5 articles a day everyday. After a few weeks up the amount. You will receive a ton of traffic if you do this but you have to be consistent. I have often found sites that I will give them a good article if they will let me have a link in it. This has worked for me in the past and have received good traffic.

I favour seo over ppc, it's free and whilst not being instant like PPC it does not take as long as a lot of people think. You are talking weeks and months not more.

I also think the biggest sin you could make is only employing one or two of the tactics.

You should learn to do each method effectively and then pick them off one by one.

Personal favourites:

video content (often 2 vids in google search results)
article marketing
social bookmarketing (especially squidoo lenses on your niche - a highly targeted variety of social bookmarking unlike digg)

One thing that is not mentioned here, that is currently my #1 source of traffic to my website (according to Google Analytics) is Google Images.
I know that personally I make heavy use of the google images search feature, and in addition to the picture I wanted, I land on somebody's website.

sam, May I ask , how should I go about using google images, I am not familiar with that?

Use images on your website and make sure you tag them with relevant keywords.

Google images will then pick them up and you will receive traffic this way.

i think it can probably be summed up this way:
1. Write and submit articles to the article directories.
2. Leave comments on other people’s blogs with a backlink to your site.
3. Answer people’s questions on Yahoo! Answers - Home.
4. Post in forums and have a link to your site in your signature.
5. Write a press release and submit it to PRWeb::The Online Visibility Company (this one's my own addition  but i have found it useful)
