Increasing PR on Google

Dear all,
What are some great ways to increase the PR of my website? I have read about blogging and search engines and such,but is there anything more that can be done.

I know there is no quick fix, but how long can it take to go up for example from a 3 to a 5?

PR can only be increased by getting Incoming backlinks (IBL's). Preferably one way from private websites as tthese carry more 'weight'.

IBL's from directories or forums etc are easy to get and therefore don't carry much weight. IBL's from link farms or sites with unrelated content can actually hurt your PR as Google sees them as attempts to spam.

the key is to focus on back link building but don't just get tons of backlinks even one way links. Instead get back links from high PR websites like PR6-9 even if they are not relevant to your specific niche. Remember that quality of backlinks is more important than quantity. Getting 10 links from PR6-PR9 is of greater value than getting 100 links from PR1-PR2 sites
