Start a website! Write quality content on the niche you choose. Do something that you really enjoy! For example I love Email Marketing and I love to do anything related to Email Marketing.

hi,
I think a better question would be "how do you build a targeted list" because if your list is not targeted, they won't be interested to what you have to offer.

A great way to build a targeted list is to offer some kind of freebie such as a short report or ebook relating to your niche in exchange for your visitor's email address.

After you've gotten their email addresses, be sure to keep giving them great content and useful tips to build long term relationships with them.

If you keep over delivering and give them free useful content, they'll be sure to trust you more and more gradually. And when the trust is there, selling becomes easier

Many ways to build a targeted list.

1. Article marketing
2. Blogging, posting on relevant forums
3. SEO
4. PPC - not free and can be costly if inexpirienced
5. Ezine advertising - again not free but highly targeted for a better opt-in rate.
6. Free and paid classifieds
7. List building programs - free and paid

Just a few that are proven to work.

We all know that what ever you are offering in exchange for their name and email, it must be valuable and of the highest quality.

Once their on your list, take the time to build a relationship with them. The biggest mistake is when you try and make a sale right away, people need to get to know and trust you.

The best kind of list to have to avoid opt-outs is a targeted list of people who are interested in what you have to offer. It all starts with a website and promotion. Then, when you have built up a decent sized list I would be sure to focus on how what you are offering will benefit the customer. Try to leave your interests out of everything and make it all about them. Good luck

Here are some tips on how you can successfully build an opt-in list:

• Make it easy for people to subscribe. You can do this by placing a form on the your website. Place it where it will be noticed. Explain the purpose of the form right underneath it. Write a couple of sentences about why subscribing to your list will be a good choice.

• Offer a free newsletter as you learn how to build an opt-in list. While learning how to build an opt-in list, you need to offer a free newsletter packed with interesting articles, tools, resources, tips, and more. Make the newsletter as fun and informative as possible, so that your readers will look forward to the next issue.

• Not only should you pack your free newsletter up with good content, but you should publish unique, quality content on your website or blog as well. If your visitors enjoy reading the content on your site, they will sign up for your opt-in list hoping to read more.
