Position in PPC
« on: August 04, 2009, 11:52:19 PM »
I need your help in deciding the best position for my website's pay per click campaign. I was under the impression that the top position was the best position as it was considered to be the most relevant search result as per the keyword.

But while I was doing a little bit of homework on pay per click campaigns, I came across a blog which spoke on how the top position is now being ignored by the users considering it as paid searches which might not be relevant.

My keywords are extremely focused and relevant to my website and I wish to see good results of my pay per click campaign. Should I still opt for the top position or should in consider biding for the top positions that appear on the right hand column of the SERPs.

I think it depends on the structure and type of site (blog, forum, etc) that you have. Most forums place their PPC ads in between posts.

I think keywords and body of the website is best for PPC ads, because both are very important for the visitors. When the visitor searches it by giving keyword than keyword plays important role in that and content for website popularity. :)

In all my expericence in the PPC arena I would have to say that the top 3 positions are where you will generate the most click throughs so if you just looking for traffic thats where you should be (running an adsencse site or something). However if you are into a business that requires sales the best place for conversions is between 4 and 6th position.

It has to be said that the ad itself must be build around maximum click throughs so be sure to use questions, keywords, and above all the scarcity factor.
