Amazon affiliates are good...But i prefer Clickbank... The commissions of Amazon re quite low as compared to clickbank...clickbank has worked quite nicely for me and i stick to it :)

Hi ...

I agree with Lina..Clickbank is much better than any other affiliates program.. Though amazon has good range of products but it lacks in lot of the other aspects like they will provide you with quarterly payments, commisions can be lower, incentive programs are dificult to understand and not so great on international programs.
Clickbank also accepts credit cards Without a merchant account, and has lot of reliability ..

well i am not satisfied with clickbank at all...i would specially say that they are really bad for the newbies..... clickbank has strange rules .. i am going to give you a few:

1. They require for you to make five sales with different credit cards before they will send you a payment. If you were fortunate to make a couple of sells for one of your merchants at $500 a piece which generated you a modest commission of $100 ,ClickBank will not send you a check until you make at least 4 more sales from different people.

2. Supposedly, if you are just getting started and you make a surprise commission of $10 on a sell but things get slow thereafter because you are not getting the traffic; well ClickBank will punish you by taking the money you have already made a little at a time; they call this “Dormant Accounts“.  They won’t send you the $10 because it is below their minimum payout amount of $100 so you are hosed my friend.

I will say linkshare, Commissionjunction or Amazon are good, though amazon gives really low commissions.

Cheers
Mike

I agree with you mike ... the range of products at amazon are amazing...Clickbank look more like scam products...They only have those e-books and selling them gets very less profit.. though there commissions are higher but the products sold are  very low priced....but obviously amazon with greater commissions would have been better...But still for a beginner i would recommend Amazon over clickbank any day...

hi..

i have been using clickbank for a while and to be truthful haven't found any scam products... Clickbank has over 10000 digital products., so it is bound to have some lousy stuff..But i have read many of its e-books, and they are very useful. That is why lot of people are benefiting from their products...The cases you mentioned, are simply to prevent the frauds that are carried out by some people who join clickbank and i think its a good safeguard procedure...i the long run i think cb is a very good option for being an affiliate...

i think its immature to say that cb has scam products... this probably means you are not fully aware of cb functioning...clickbank is not itself selling all those products...It just provides a marketplace where people can sell their stuff... on the other hand they are responsible for keeping our credit cards information guarded from the merchants...there will always be fraudulent  people everyone selling sham products... its a person's choice whether he wants the product or not... its as simple as that..

hi all,

As others have stated, CB has boatloads of crap to sift through, but there are some "real" products in there that fullfill a niche and do it well.

The problem I have with aStore or anything Amazon in general is the very low payout. As someone who doesn't have 10K visitors per day to sling over for a 4% commission, I find that I make very little money with Amazon links. Sure, I make some and I'm 100% pleased with Amazon as a company (I shop there all the time) but you're not going to get rich with their affiliate program unless you have some massive traffic IMO.

hey everybody  i am new to this forum...quite a nice discussion going on... just to add my bit i also have been using clickbank for a long time and it has been very useful for me... some good points of cb are
1. It processes transaction itself
2. reliable on time payments
3. large and varied selection products
4. fraud detection is excellent

 Cheers

Jane

If you're a beginner and not yet full-time then I advise you go with Clickbank.
The payouts per sale are very high and the products easily sale able.
Now the conversion rate on Amazon products is higher but the paltry commission is ridiculous. Wait until you are doing well with Click bank and then diversify by selling Amazon stuff too. Put it this way, you have to put in two or three times the effort to make the same amount of money out of Amazon as you could with Click bank so why start with Amazon first? It doesn't make any sense unless you already have a site with a ton of targeted traffic that really wants some physical products from Amazon.

- It is correct that Amazon gives only around 4% commission, but the items are also much more expensive in Amazon. For example if you refer someone who bought a $1000 DSLR, you'll get $40. I l say it’s quite good for a beginner. Moreover Amazon has both physical and digital products while CB only has digital products.
